Greetings and welcome to JohnFreeman.org. Michigan is going through some difficult times and as someone who has always worked to improve the quality of life in our state, I felt it was important to create a website where I could not only share some of my thoughts, but to also engage our best resources...our people.
As someone who has served the public as a state representative for six years, I can tell you there are some smart people who work in our state Capitol. But as someone who has also worked in the private sector and as a community organizer, I can tell you that all of the best answers for solving Michigan's problems are not just in one building in Lansing.
If we are truly going to turn Michigan around, it is going to take all of us. We must all engage if we are going to build a better way for the state we care so much for. One part of that is looking at how government functions. We'll never change the way our government works until we change the way we govern.
I hope this website will not only give you with a better sense for some of my thoughts and ideas but that it will offer you, the citizens of Michigan, a point of participation for creating solutions too.
